We are delighted to let you know that Lucy has won the French Junior Open Girls Under 19 Squash Tournament in Lille.
Lucy’s results were:
First round: Won 3-0 against Claire Gadsby (Scotland).
Quarter Final: Won 3-1 against Jenny Haley (Wales).
Semi Final: Won 3-2 (11/9, 11/9, 9/11, 6/11, 11/8) against Tinne Gilis (Belgium) – no.1 seed, no.1 in Europe GU19.
Final: Won 3-2 (9/11, 8/11, 11/9, 11/8, 11/5) against Georgina Kennedy (England) – no.2 seed, no.1 in England GU19, no.2 in Europe GU19.
This was Lucy’s first big tournament win since coming back from injury after being out for over a year. Lucy has been back competing since October and has recently been selected to represent England in the European Championships in Finland in March.
