The year 8 boys team played recently against Duchess and Meadowdale, putting in fantastic performances on both occasions. They defeated Duchess High School from Alnwick in the County Cup with Harvey W, Alex H, Dylan F, Jack A, Brandon L and Liam R all on the score sheet. On the previous evening they went down 5-4 to a very strong Meadowdale team with Harvey again scoring two and Harry L getting two goals as well.
There were excellent performances and a good result for the year 9 boys team. A strong St Mary’s team from Newcastle were defeated 2-1 in the first round of the County Cup. Goals from Jake H and Sam F sees CLV through to the next round against either KEVI or Blyth.
The U16 girls team won their National Cup Game beating John Spence 1-0. The goal was scored by Jade D after a great through ball by Ella R. Player of the game was Sam P who played exceptionally well as centre midfield. The next round is on Tuesday 14th November against Trinity School from Carlisle.
Our 6th form boys team continued their run in the National Cup beating RGS 1-0 before half term. A stunning strike from Ben C was enough to see CLV through to the next round. Special mention to the three year 11 boys who stepped up and held their own in the U18 fixture – Ewan K, Corey M and Matty A.
