The parental login for our VLE, named the Parent Portal, aims to provide you with relevant information on all aspects of your child’s school life. In addition, the portal contains information and guidance that you might need to help you to support your child at school.
You will receive a username and password for each of your children in school. This should be kept safe. If you have provided the school with an email address, you can retrieve your log-in details from the form linked to the VLE’s login page.
From the front page, you can view school notices, see your child’s attendance data and timetable. Whole school information on exams, uniform, enrichment activities etc…are linked to from the My Information button.
There is guidance available on eSafety, to help keep your children stay safe online. CLV’s Counselling Service has information to help too. Our Careers Service provides information and advice for students on their next steps after school and how you can help with these decisions.
Our Mathematics Department have developed a tailored tutorial system, which lists topics your child is struggling with and provides video guides to help them improve. We have made this system available to parents as well, to enable you to help.
Our students in years 7 & 8 are enrolled in the Accelerated Reader program and we provide you with a direct link to this excellent resource. Your child’s login details will allow you to access Accelerated Reader.
You can even find out about the current menus offered in the school cafés.
All home learning assigned to your child is summarised on the Parent Portal. From the summary, you will be able to see if your child has read their assignment. Clicking on the assignment will show you the home learning details, including when the work is due.
Personal Learning Plan
Once every half term, your child will have a Learning Review with their Learning Guide. Parents are invited to attend these conversations which aim to cover all aspects of our students’ time at Cramlington. Summaries of these conversations are recorded on the Personal Learning Plan, along with their latest academic report and other useful details. If you cannot attend one of these reviews, you can leave your own comments for your child’s Learning Guide to read later.
Staying in touch
To make contacting our teachers convenient, we have included their email addresses. We also have an online form for you to use to keep the school up-to-date with your current email address and mobile phone number. It is very important we have these details and not just for an emergency.
Having listened to parents’ views over how they want to be contacted, we introduced the Groupcall messaging system. Using this system, we can email and text you information which normally would have to be posted. This system not only helps the environment, but the money saved from postage costs is reinvested back into our classrooms.
We hope you explore the Parent Portal and find it useful.
