Our approach is to encourage responsible travel choices that support the well-being of our students, staff, and the wider community, while also reducing environmental impact. Through our school travel plan we aim to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote sustainable modes of transport such as walking, cycling, and public transport<\/li>\n<li>Reduce traffic congestion and maintain safety around the school site<\/li>\n<li>Encourage healthy and active lifestyles through active travel options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travel across Cramlington and beyond is possible through a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1wPIvoEhSX1cF_0zAyH7_zh8r3hoLsg3Y\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cycleway network<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The latest cycle count in October 2025 showed that 271 pedal cycles were parked at school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A useful way to plan how to get to and from Cramlington Learning Village is to compare local <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1x9v1KoTgucvufyX5cbiyAchSAj4YY0bu\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bus, walking and cycling routes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We have published <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1XkR-gvSziy6_Hpjfku0oPC3-ygyy-1TN\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">travel advice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for students, staff, and our community, with a focus on safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When assessing our school travel plan targets, we collect data from students through a \u2018hands up survey\u2019 in partnership with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/modeshift.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Modeshift<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when students are asked how they travelled to school that day. The table below shows the latest results for our school compared to national statistics. It shows that 62% of students used active travel, an increase on previous surveys. They have been working on a project to improve cycling provision within Cramlington and aim to increase the amount of JLV students cycling (and walking) to school. They recently attended a ATA event where they pitched their project to Northumberland Councillors.
