Year 9 Students buoyant about marine engineering

We recently invited the Marine Society to CLV to deliver an interactive workshop about buoyancy. Our students gained an insight into the basic principles of marine engineering and were given the challenge to produce a boat to hold as many marbles as possible, using only the resources of paper, wire, foil and sellotape! The winning design produced by Ella M, Erin P, Sarah H and Ruby R held an amazing 500 marbles!

Great fun was had by all and students gained an insight into the potential opportunities for careers in marine engineering and proved themselves to be resourceful and reflective learners.
