Year 8 Flashmob – students entertain shoppers with impromptu dance performance

On Monday 8th July a fantastic group of students graced the floors of Manor Walks Shopping Centre to perform a dance sensation; raising funds for some of our chosen charities. During the morning our South group made their way in the Cramlington sunshine, whilst the North group students jived their way after lunch.

Performing hits such as Happy, Wanna Be Like You (from The Jungle Book), WakaWaka and Old Town Road our students put on a sensational performance, showcasing the enthusiasm and commitment we want our performing students to aspire to!  To think this group of students are only thirteen, their confidence and professionalism performing in a public space was phenomenal.  The audience was tapping their feet, applauding with enthusiasm and very generous in their donations; raising around £30 for Dementia UK and an amazing £90 for Guide Dogs.

Both Mrs Dyer and Mrs Sutton were very impressed with the students taking part, especially as many of them also did Create Will Rock You this year, and have expressed an interest in our forthcoming school productions.  We are excited about the challenges they’ll take on in future years and hope they all will consider Drama at GCSE, and beyond, as they would be an incredible group of drama students to have here at CLV!!!
