Our new build is now underway with contractors onsite and we want keep students, parents and the community up to date with what will be happening over the next 2 years.
As you may know we are looking forward to a brand new school building as part of the DFE Schools Rebuilding Programme. On April 15th 2025, Northumberland’s Strategic Planning Committee approved the plans, and construction began in September 2025.
This building presents fantastic opportunities for our school community. It will provide brand new facilities for several departments and has been thoughtfully designed to complement the JLV and the Sporting Club, which will continue to be part of our school.
We are working closely with all relevant agencies to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible, and we will be keeping this page up to date as the school progresses.

February 2025 – May 2026
Phase 1 completes with the opening of the new car park and the area for the new build cleared. The foundations are poured and construction of the new building begins.
September 2025 – November 2025

Ground Breaking Ceremony
On Wednesday 22nd October, Bowmer + Kirkland invited representatives from the DFE, Northumberland County Council, our Student Leadership Group, Co Headteacher Jon Bird and members of our staff and governing body to officially launch our new build project which culminated in a ground breaking ceremony where our students were presented with an engraved spade to mark the event.
